Ms. Goss, a patient suffering from severe depression, had failed multiple medications, with suicidal ideations; she and her family had tried for nearly a year to be treated via an implantable, recently FDA-approved vagus nerve stimulator device, but was repeatedly denied by her insurance company. The RVP Foundation Board approached the surgeon, hospital, and the device company, who ultimately all donated services free of charge. She did well and no longer suffers from suicidal tendency, as evidenced by these before and after pictures submitted by her family.

Mr. Roy Griggs, a successful businessman, began losing his voice over the past two years. He was diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia and treated with BoTox injections initially which resulted in only temporary improvement. He presented his case to the RVP foundation, and after an extensive search, an Ear/Nose/Throat surgeon was found in Los Angeles who performed a procedure for this disorder. Three months later, Mr. Griggs had his voice back. He claims “the spirit moved him to come to the Foundation,” and has been gracious to share his testimony for the Foundation.

These cases illustrate the facilitation of medical care via “enABLE” – we did not provide medical care, but helped facilitate it as we continue to do in our mission along with informing and empowering individuals.
